Rescue Diver- Learn to Aid Others:

This is a challenging and rewarding course that builds upon what you have already learned. This course expands your knowledge about how to prevent problems and how to manage them if they occur.   • Rescuing panicked divers.

  • Minimum Age: 15 (12 for Junior AOW)
  • Prerequisite: Advanced Open Water/Junior Advanced Open Water and Emergency First Response

Rescue Diver Course Details:

Each of the different parts of the course proceed at the student's pace. The student must demonstrate successful understanding or mastery before the instructor will proceed on to the next section.

  • The first part of the course involves a period of knowledge development. In this section you will learn about the fundamentals of different rescue skills that can be used to help the student resolve different scenarios. This knowledge is important because you will later use it to better understand why you perform the different skills and safety steps during the exercise dives and rescue scenarios.
  • The second part of the Rescue Diver Course will consist of a series of exercises. They are designed to incrementally teach you how to to safely respond to different emergencies that you may encounter as a Rescue Diver.
  • The third part of the Rescue Diver Course will consist of differnt scenarios that will test your ability to use all of the skills you learned during the exercises. They place you in a realistic dive setting and require you to resolve the scenarios with the tools and knowledge you have learned.
